VTCT launches search for vocational education's rising stars

VTCT has launched its VTCT Excellence Awards 2024, which are now open for entries.

It is inviting training organisations and colleges across Ireland and the UK to nominate the most deserving students, colleagues and apprentices across more than 17 sectors to receive recognition. Furthermore, colleges and training providers can also submit themselves to showcase the work they do to support and nurture these talents.

VTCT is a awarding organisation and end-of-point assessment organisation for the personal services and wellbeing sector, including hairdressing, barbering and beauty therapy. Its qualifications are delivered under three brands, one of them being iTEC, which is the examination board in Ireland.

The VTCT Excellence Awards 2024 will take place next July, when the spotlight will be put on the work and achievements of the students during an afternoon ceremony.

“The VTCT Excellence Awards reflect our organisation's mission – to inspire our students and educational partners to unlock their potential and thrive in rewarding careers,” said Alan Woods OBE, chief executive of VTCT.

“Last year, we heard stories of students achieving outstanding outcomes despite significant challenges, underscoring the passion and dedication of individuals in the vocational education sector. We witness the incredible work these people undertake daily, and I am personally honoured to have the opportunity to recognise and demonstrate how vital they are to our industry.”
