The Irish Spa Association's (ISA) Winter Conference is taking place in Carton House in Maynooth, Co Kildare on 16 November.

Founded by Peigin Crowley and Anita Murray in 2019, the ISA is a not-for-profit organisation that was set up to foster professionalism and growth, and impact change within the spa industry by providing community resources and networking opportunities, and facilitating discussions around issues affecting sector. Melissa Jones is its general manager for 2023-2024.

The industry body holds an event for professionals twice a year, with its Summer Conference taking place earlier this year in Hayfield Manor in Cork.

The ISA's Winter Conference will see award-winning spa and salon consultant Valerie Delforge lead a discussion on the retail opportunities available to spas nationwide this festive season.

Delforge is an international business strategist consultant, author and public speaker, with over 30 years' industry experience. Having worked with brands such as Clarins, Urban Retreat and L’Occitane, she focuses on key strategies that spa owners and managers can implement in their business.

Her five key pillars of success – which are known as The Delforge 5: Budget, Leadership, Reception, Marketing and Retail – strive to motivate managers, owners and teams, inspiring them to become commercially aware, whilst giving them the tools necessary to be successful.
