Former salon owner offering Chuzeday platform for small service providers

Former salon owner Deborah Jordan, who is based in Wexford, is offering an all-in-one calendar, booking and appointments solution to small businesses.

Chuzeday is aimed at small service operators such as salon owners, and freelance hair and beauty therapists, who are looking for a more efficient way to run their business.

“You can be good at what you do, but can spend a lot of time on appointment management and miss opportunities to make more money,” says Jordan. “With Chuzeday, you have your own landing page, integrated payments and booking schedules, allowing you to be visible, make more money and get your time back to do what you love to do. It’s about building sustainable growth in your business.”

As a former salon owner, Jordan believes she is in a unique position to recognise the needs of a hair and beauty industry professional.

“I totally understand their needs as I was one one of them. Having been in business for over 17 years with salons of different sizes, the idea for Chuzeday came from my own experience of running a small solo business. I was losing between eight and 10 a hours a week, both during and after work, managing appointments by returning DMs, texts, calls etc. I was missing out on family time.

“I’m not a ‘techy’ person, so I know that having software that is easy to use is very important. The hair and beauty industry is a creative one, and not everyone wants to use a system that needs huge technical training. We just don’t have the time, especially when you are on your own.”

With a mission to ‘grow smart, grow local’, Jordan says that Chuzeday reduces the cost of running a small business a number of ways, including removing the cost of building and maintaining a website, and removing the need to pay for a separate booking system with a marketplace. “It also protects the income of a business by reducing the impact of no-shows with deposits and cancellation policies in place.”

Because Chuzeday is taking care of the business, it gives the owner more time to do other things, such as upskill, adds Jordan. “If offers a real opportunity to improve your work-life balance, while earning more money at the same time.”

Jordan says she plans to add more elements and innovations to Chuzeday in the next year. “And I hope to continue to grow our support for local providers that need advice and help setting up their dream business.”
