Thérapie Clinic has announced professional Irish rugby player Conor Murray as its first ever male laser hair removal ambassador.
Founded over 20 years ago by siblings Phillip and Katie McGlade, Thérapie Clinic has a network of clinics offering a range of aesthetic treatments. With more than 75 clinics across Ireland, the UK and the US, the company recently revealed plans to open 65 new branches across Ireland and the UK over the next three years, creating 1,000 jobs.
According to the company, its male laser hair removal customer base has grown by 80% since 2022 and, in response, it has appointed Murray as its new ambassador, saying that he “represents the brand’s male customer perfectly”.
“When we delved into recent consumer insights and trends, we could see a clear increase in the male customer for laser hair removal,” said Thérapie Clinic CEO Phillip McGlade.
“Having clinic teams speak with male clients on why they were getting laser hair removal, some of the answers varied from wanting to feel more confident or their partner preferred them to have less body hair, to having skin that didn’t react well to razors and generally wanting a more long-term solution. We believe Conor coming on board will encourage Irish men to invest in themselves when it comes to grooming and will reach a broader customer base for Thérapie.”
Murray said the timing for the partnership “couldn't be better”. “I was looking into the treatment after some teammates told me about the benefits. Like most people these days, I have a really busy schedule. With training and matches, not to mention a baby on the way, I have less time for grooming. I have been shaving my shoulders, upper arms and upper back for years and have to do it frequently, and to be honest, it’s a pain!
“Laser hair removal is the perfect solution for me. After a few short sessions, I won’t have to think about shaving ever again, which frees up time. Not to mention, the results are just better – no nicks, or post-shave irritation. It’s one less thing to think about and anything that can free up time to focus on the more important things is a must.”
