Worldskills Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Competitions winners announced

The winners of the Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Competitions at Worldskills Ireland 2024 have been announced.

A Government and industry-led initative, this year's Worldskills took place at the RDS in Dublin on 25-27 September.

The annual event aims to promote skills and apprenticeship careers and opportunities for young people, as they navigate future options following secondary education.

It also features a number of skills competitions, with the Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Competitions being included in the Creative Arts category.

The winner of the Hairdressing Competition was Amy Lowe, who was representing Waterford College of Further Education. Lowe is doing her apprenticeship in Colm Morrissey Hair Studio in Tramore, Co Waterford.

The winner of the Beauty Therapy Competition was Keri Long, who is studying business studies with beauty and spa management at Technological University of the Shannon.
