Professional Beauty & Hair 2025 kicked off at the RDS in Dublin on 9 March, with thousands of beauty and hair professionals attending the first day of the show.
Featuring a wide range of both Irish and international brands, visitors got to see and try out products and innovations in a variety of sectors, including skincare, hair, barbering, make-up, tanning, waxing, aesthetics, nails, lashes, brows and more.
Among the highlights of the day were the line-ups on the two live stages. The Beauty Stage featured names such as nail artist Kirsty Meakin, Iguazu Beauty owner Louise O’Loughlin, and pharmacist and fabÜ Wellness founder Laura Dowling, who wowed the audience with her ‘What does beauty have to do with your vulva?’ talk.
MUA Jessy Malone did a bronzed glam look demo, Eden Beauty’s Susan Fox did a bioneedling/exosomes demo, and Phorest explained its Benchmark Report, breaking down the data that truly matters for your salon.
Meanwhile, the Beauty Stage hosted the very first Salon SOUL (Salon Owners United in Learning). Led by Amica Eco Hairdressing co-owner Greg Clarke, he was joined by Image Skillnet’s Margaret O’Rourke Doherty, Zeba’s Paul Dromgoole, Ikon Hair’s Valerie Finnegan Cahill, Vanilla Hair Design owner Samantha Byrne and Rossanos owner Rossa Danagher. The enlightening panel discussion looked at the challenges facing the industry today, and how to overcome them.
Over on the Hair & Barbering Stage, the stellar line-up of stylists doing creative and inspirational work included Augusto Miranda, Patrick Browne, Nirvana Margarini, Mark Sherwood, Tori Smyth, Danilo Giangreco and Emy Roccabella, Wayne Lloyd and Sean Taaffe.
The first day of the show also featured the inaugural Salon Owners’ Networking Event, which saw Professional Beauty Group MD Mark Moloney chair a number of round table discussions with salon owners and sole operators. Participants were able to contribute and ask questions, with everyone benefitting from one another’s knowledge.
And the Make-up Competitions (sponsored by Andreia Professional) and Nail Competitions brought together a wealth of talent as MUAs and nail techs battled it out on the show floor in a bid to be recognised in their chosen categories.
