New data shows Irish clients favouring longer-term aesthetic maintenance over occasional tweakments

Consumers in Ireland are subscribing to aesthetic treatments like the way they subscribe to Spotify, Netflix and gym membership, according to new data from Thérapie Clinic.

The medical aesthetic clinic group launched its subscription model in June 2025, and said that since then, almost one in three eligible Irish clients have opted into it, signalling a major shift towards longer-term aesthetic maintenance over occasional tweakments.

It noted that anti-wrinkle injection subscribers are now twice as likely to stay consistent with their doctor-recommended treatments, with 94% remaining on their treatment schedule compared to just 46% of non-subscribers.

The data also suggests subscriptions are encouraging clients to progress towards more advanced treatments, with one in five subscribers advancing to their first three-area anti-wrinkle treatment, signalling growing consumer confidence around preventative and longer-term aesthetic maintenance.

Subscription uptake has been strongest among consumers aged between 30 and 55, although many subscribers aged 60+ also remain actively engaged with regular treatments.

Demand has been strongest across Thérapie Clinic’s Dublin clinics, while Galway leads the regional uptake outside the capital.

“We’ve seen a huge shift in how people approach injectables and aesthetic treatments over the last few years,” said Dr. Tom Cryan, medical aesthetics doctor at Thérapie Clinic. “Clients are asking more questions, researching treatments in greater detail and taking a far more considered approach before booking.

“People aren’t really coming into clinics looking for dramatic transformations anymore. Most clients want treatments that help them look fresher, healthier, and more confident in a subtle and natural-looking way.

“We’re also seeing growing interest in treatments focused on skin quality, prevention, and overall skin health rather than obvious cosmetic change. For many clients, aesthetic treatments are becoming part of a broader self-care and confidence routine rather than something reserved for special occasions.”
